The Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship (CRE) was established to enhance research activities among both students and academic staff members. Our research covers areas such as Information Technology, Mobile Computing, Business, Hospitality and Tourism, Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Quality Management, Planning, Language and Linguistics, etc. Through research conduction, faculty members are actively pursuing interdisciplinary and socially relevant research in various areas with state–of–the–art equipment in addition to teaching, consultancy and extension activities.

The Centre aims at providing opportunities for researchers to conduct research projects which are recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education. It also aims at providing a platform for the faculty members to interact with other experts in their areas of specialisation, both within Oman and abroad, which would provide the grounds for others to understand the research quality of the college and also build scientific collaborations. The Centre is actively engaged in industrial consultancy and identification of similar opportunities. Some achievements of the centre are nomination of Assessors in His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Award for Industrial Excellence, nomination of several reviewers to The Research Council of Oman (TRC), joint projects with ministries, to mention but a few.

The key thought initiatives that inform our work are: governance; human well-being and flourishing in organisational contexts; social, organisational and technological innovation; building and maintaining relationships in business; knowledge, expertise and learning in organisational contexts. The college’s aim is to help create sustainable economies that underpin and support sustainable communities and strong, democratic societies through the Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship.

In support of Oman’s Vision 2020 and TRC’s sustainable development programmes, Gulf College through the Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship Office, strives to be a premier institution for research and knowledge transfer that delivers educational, economic, social and cultural growth and development in both local and global arena.
