In an effort to give better services and meet the basic needs of the Special Needs Students (SNS) , the Faculty of Foundation Studies conducted a workshop that runs from 23rd, 27th thru 29th August, 2017.
Day 1 (23rd August 2017): It was spearheaded by its Head of Faculty, Mr. Masood Khan and facilitated by Mr. Hamed and Ms. Hanaa, two SN lecturers. The workshop was specifically for teaching the library staff on how to communicate to the SN students through sign language, so that they will be able to assist students who want to use the facility. This was also done to further improve the assistance rendered to the SNS to fully cater to their needs and effectively deliver the necessary services expected from the Centre for Learning Resources.
There was a lively discussion that ensued during the sessions, the staff were very inquisitive on how to do the appropriate sign language for some common expressions used inside the library. There were also very active interaction between the facilitators and the staff, an indication that they are really willing to serve the SNS to their best ability.
