BA (Hons.) in Business and Management Studies

This degree combines the study of business in general and business management in particular. Students who aim to be enterprise managers or entrepreneurs are into this degree. This broad business degree helps students achieve the managerial skills as well as theories of business and management. The programme structure is designed to give students choices on which pathways they will pursue – law or human resource management. Moreover, it gives students additional knowledge of other aspects of business and management such as information technology, finance, marketing, internationalisation, among others.

The BA (Hons) in Business and Management Studies and the Business and Management Studies Diploma in Higher Education is awarded by Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.

The award is general in concept and structure until Level 5 Semester 1. The students will choose their pathway to either Law or Human Resource Management at the beginning of Level 5 Semester 2. The law pathway equips the students with the legal framework of business management. It also gives a foundation for international aspects of law. On the other hand, human resource management trains the students to be adept with human relations, HR strategy and people resourcing and management. It keeps the students informed of the current issues and trends in managing workforce diversity.

After the completion of the award, there are a multitude of possible career choices for students leading to enterprise managers, entrepreneurs, and general business management careers. The specific pathway to law gives students better chances to work in a legal department. Additionally, the human resource management pathway leads students to be HR managers, specialist, and training and development specialist.

The BA (Hons) in Business and Management Studies can be achieved over a minimum period of 4 years.
