Description

The MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (MSc AI and ML) programme aims to provide students with a cutting-edge knowledge of technologies and applications that span almost every aspect of our lives. AI and ML are now a days used from smartphone apps to self-driving cars. AI and ML are built on a foundation of computer science and this programme will enable students to combine problem-solving skills, practical skills like programming, and specialist knowledge on tools and techniques for creating smart algorithms and software.

Educational Aims of the Programme

  • The MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is delivered with scheduled lectures, seminars and tutorials. Combined, these allow students to develop their AI and ML skills for life in the knowledge economy. Besides detailed knowledge and understanding of subject material, a key objective in the programme is to develop and promote core study skills, and a reflective approach to learning.

The programme objectives include enabling students to study topics such as programming, machine learning, classification, clustering with modules that challenge them to combine and apply these topics on practical projects with career-oriented outcomes.

Also, the programme with the project module aims at providing opportunities to students to leverage industry-standard software tools to developing cutting-edge solutions for real-world problems.

Graduates will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop high quality systems and to manage all aspects of AI and ML, thus enabling them to meet the increasing commercial demand for advanced computer science graduates.

Modules have a structured approach in their design and students access the course content via Moodle, the virtual learning environment.
