Afrah Al Shammakhi is a lecturer with a great experience in teaching English, supervision and teacher training. She has been teaching English for more than twenty years. She has held different positions during her career as she worked as a senior teacher, a regional supervisor and a professional development trainer. She has been a certified trainer since 2015. She has delivered many workshops with the target of enhancing teachers’ performance in teaching English. She has, also, acted as an effective member in many committees such as ‘Studies and Research Committee’, ‘Educational Achievement Committee’ and ‘Assessment of newly recruited Supervisors and SETs’.
Ms. Afrah joined the college in 2021 and she has been teaching since then the two English modules of ‘English for Academic Purposes and Study Skills’ and ‘English Language Proficiency’. As a lecturer, she aspires to create a welcoming learning environment full of enthusiasm and challenge where each student’s ideas and opinions are valued.
