Dr Mohammad Al-Azawi is Deputy Dean for academic affairs, research, and innovation in Gulf College. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership and administrative capabilities throughout his career. He served as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research at OCMT from 2015 to 2021. During his tenure, he also undertook the responsibilities of Acting Dean in 2016-2017, ensuring the smooth operation and strategic direction of the institution.
As the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Management Information Systems from 2011 to 2016, Dr Al-Azawi led the department to new heights, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation. His tenure as Head of Quality Assurance Department from 2017 to 2021 highlights his commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of education. He participated in developing numerous quality assurance documents and policies, including the Curriculum Design Manual, Assessment Manual, and Student Retention Strategy.
In addition to his administrative roles, Dr Al-Azawi has actively participated in professional and academic communities. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education (OAQHE) and has served as an expert reviewer and editor for several high-impact journals and international conferences. His administrative acumen, combined with his academic expertise, continues to inspire and guide both his colleagues and the academic community.

Furthermore, he emphasises the importance of using knowledge in community service and industry engagement, fostering collaborations that benefit both academia and society. This comprehensive approach underpins his dedication to developing well-rounded, socially responsible professionals.
