Short Bio:

Dr. Shameena is the Deputy Dean for Partnerships, Quality & Registry at Gulf College and has been heading the QA activities of the College since 2009. She is the recipient of Doctoral fellowship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Shameena has 16 years of teaching experience and has been involved in moderation of assessments of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, besides being an examiner for doctoral thesis.

Shameena has extensive experience in QA as she has lead Gulf College in the programme validations of the partner universities, institutional reviews and audit by the Ministry of Higher Education, Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) and ISO 9001:2008 certifying authority. She has kept herself abreast in Quality Management by attending various national and international training programmes in Quality Assurance such as the training in Advanced Quality and Accreditation in Higher Education, Quality Management and Internal Auditing, Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Besides, she has also attended and participated in various workshops, symposium and conferences in Quality Assurance organised by Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE now renamed as Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education -OAQHE) and OAAA over the past seven years. She is the member representative of Gulf College in OAQHE, an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Internal Auditor, External Reviewer of OAAA and a Programme Reviewer for the Ministry of Higher Education.

Shameena has presented research papers in the field of Third Sector in International conferences in South Africa, China, Canada, Bangkok and Cyprus and also participated in the Partner Conferences organised by Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. Two research papers have been published by the Management Centre, Cyprus. She has also published three text books and also developed course books for universities in India.
