Dr. Ester E. Simagala joined Gulf College as a Lecturer in the Centre for Foundation Studies (former IFP) in 2009. She was appointed as a Module Leader for 3 years and designated as a Programme Leader in 2013 in which she served for 4 years. She had taught English subjects in different colleges and universities in the Philippines prior to her coming to Oman. It is in these colleges and universities that she obtained most of her experiences in teaching. Dr. Ester has more than 30 years of academic teaching. She has taught a variety of English modules such as General English, Academic Study Skills, Business English, Integrated Project, Communication Skills and CALL for almost ten years now in the CFS. She also obtained academic excellence awards for 3 consecutive years. She has co-authored published researches in English Language Teaching in refereed international journals and has attended workshops on English language teaching, teaching methodologies and other professional development workshops. As a Lecturer, one of her dreams is to make a difference in the lives of her students and leave an indelible mark that will last a lifetime.
