About CPSR

In line with Oman’s 2020 vision, Gulf College is committed to providing all the required grounds to promote the culture of research among its staff members and students. The Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research (CPSR) is responsible for managing and monitoring all research-related matters in the College. The CPSR’s foci are on quality research conduction which would benefit the College in particular, and the society of Oman in general. To this end, the Centre is responsible for the creation of effective, transparent, and clear research policies and procedures in order to serve the need of the researchers.

Our Objectives

  • To promote research culture among the staff members and students;
  • To effectively implement the Research Framework across entities;
  • To develop a functional research hub;
  • To encourage the staff members and students to publish quality research papers;
  • To identify projects or research areas from external bodies where staff members can actively contribute;
  • To identify areas for joint research within and outside the College; and
  • To utilise research outcomes in enhancing the quality of teaching.

Research Strategy

The (CPSR) strategy aims at highlighting the College’s unique strengths and goals, going hand in hand with its Strategic Plan. In line with Oman’s Vision 2020 and the TRC’s sustainable development programmes, the plan consists of five key focus areas. These include research culture improvement through research awareness activities and recognition of research efforts, research output enhancement, multidisciplinary research, creation of research groups, and local and global market collaborations.
