Short Bio:

Dr. Tarek Khalil is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences at Gulf College, Sultanate of Oman. He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems in 2011 and a master’s degree in computer information systems in 2006 from Damascus University. He has more than twelve years of academic teaching experience.

His teaching philosophy is grounded in the use of simple, real-world examples, active discussion, and practical application of knowledge to enhance student understanding and engagement. He believes that effective teaching involves not only delivering clear and insightful lectures but also fostering a supportive classroom environment that encourages questions, dialogue, and critical thinking.

Dr. Khalil has published research in international journals, with interests focused on knowledge management technologies and their practical applications. His work emphasizes applied interdisciplinary research, where theoretical frameworks are used to address real-world challenges in decision support systems, public administration, and socioeconomic transformation in developing countries. His current research interests include big data, business analytics, and Quantum-Enhanced AI in Business Intelligence.
