The Centre of Languages and Cultural Studies (CLCS) of Gulf College (GC) has awarded recently its students with the certificates of attendance for the 40-hour course in English for Beginners A1.1 approved by the Ministry of Manpower, Sultanate of Oman. It has stirred their interests to pursue further learning of the global language for education, business, and tourism. GC Dean, Prof. Taqi Al Abduwani has been represented by Dr. Mohaned Al Obaidi, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research.Ms. Maha Saqer Alshatti, a GC Library Assistant has received the top award with an appraisal rating of Excellent. Her daughter Badriya Ahmed Moosa Al-Shahhi has also received the same award of excellence in learning English. Mr. Mohammed Fouad Awad Al Sayed, the Manager of the Centre for Students Activities has garnered points to have a very good rating. Other CLCS students are GC lecturer of Special Needs,  counsellor, cashier, members of the student council, receptionists, security personnel, an external student and a utility lady. Apparently, socio-cultural factors are not barriers in learning English language at Gulf College.

Behind the scene is the team that makes things beneficial and productive to both GC and its clientele in particular and to the society in general. It consists of the Deputy Dean of Admin and Finance, Mr. Waleed Said; GC Training Unit Manager, Mr. Abed Al Balushi; Dr. Ines Masmoudi, Manager for the Centre of Training and Professional Development; and Dr. Irene Pineda Villareal, Manager of the Centre Languages and Cultural Studies.
