The Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Faculty of Computing Sciences hosted a workshop titled “Mobile Learning in Oman Higher Education – Development, Adoption and Dissemination workshop on October 25, 2017”. It was attended by the staff and students from different levels. The workshop resource speaker is Dr. Mohamed Sarab who is a researcher at the Communication and Information Research Center from
Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat. The objective of the workshop is to present a research project funded by The Research Council. The aim of undertaking this project is to address three important aspects. First, to identify the technical and non-technical factors that might influence the development, adoption and dissemination of Mobile learning. Second, to understand the perceptional and behavioral attitudes within Omani society towards the adoption of Mobile learning; and finally, to develop a mobile learning framework for Oman based on the empirical study. Both FCS staff and students who attended the workshop benefited the workshop because this could one of the bases on how the staff members guide their students, specifically the Level 6 students, who are now currently taking final year project module. There was a good discussion after the presentation that gave the researcher a chance to explain and guide the future researcher on how to come up with a funded research project.—Dr. R. O. Sibayan
